Conveyor with tension
QC Industries offers the Automation
series low-profile belt conveyor featuring a tension release tail. At the push of
a button, the tension release tail flips up
and out of the way to relieve tension on
the belt. The tail reseats, reapplying
tension, with a gentle push. No tools
The tension release tail uses a completely separate mechanism for relieving the tension than it uses for making
tension and tracking adjustments, so
adjustments are retained when tension
is relieved and reapplied.

Serapid Inc. has
new PSH C-clamp to its line
of quick die
The clamp is designed to work with
dies with a flat edge. When mounted
on a T-profiled base, the clamp
forms a bracket device, which then
is manually inserted into a slot on
the bolster or slide.
In automated die changes, the clamp
head alone can be mounted permanently on the press. The clamp is
hydraulically activated and opened
with a spring. The clamping height can
be individually configured through the
height of the base piece or using a cus-tom-sized spacer.
The clamp is available in sizes
from 20 to 100 kN.

Bunting® Magnetics Co. has expanded its magnetic separation
ValueMag™ product line to include
magnetic cartridges; plate magnets;
grate magnets; liquid line traps; two-drawer, grate-in-housing magnets;
and sight glass magnets.
Beginning at 4 in. in length, magnetic cartridges are available in
ceramic, Neo Power-Balanced®
(NPB), and Neo High-Intensity (NHI)
magnetic strengths. Grate magnets
start at 4 by 4 in. and feature multiple
sizes in ceramic and NPB. Grate-in-housing and liquid line trap magnets
each come in three sizes, while the
sight glass magnets come in four different sizes. Finally, the plate magnets

SAS Automation LLC has introduced a
heavy-duty GRM magnetic gripper,
suitable for use when vacuum cups and
grippers are used for lifting and moving
steel sheets, blanks, stamped parts, and
The gripper grasps odd-shaped or
perforated parts and operates in any
orientation. It will not drop parts if system air loss occurs. The maximum
operating temperature is 140 degrees F.
Rare-earth magnets positively hold
the parts during transfer, reducing the
chance of slipping and shifting of parts
because of oily coatings. An optional
low-skid boot also is available to
increase grip on parts during transfer. A
short burst of shop air pressure is
applied to release parts. To pick up or
grip parts, the air pressure must be
exhausted to the atmosphere.

Honeywell Wintriss has introduced the
Shadow® 8 light curtain for metal
stamping and forming. It can be used to
guard multiple sides of a machine with
only one pair of cables connected to a
Wintriss Clutch/Brake Control (WPC)
or to an optional Shadow 8 control.
The light curtain is designed to allow
users to add a second, third, or fourth
pair of optic heads to the same control.
The basic system includes a main
pair of light curtains and cables. The
main heads can be used as a stand-alone light curtain. Alternatively,
users can connect one to three pairs
of extension heads in series with the
main unit. Extension heads can be
added at any time.
Quick-disconnect fittings on the pigtails can be attached to the main unit or
to another extension.
